Ayalim is a student-based organization that works in the Negev and the Galilee regions building houses and working with the local communities. I’ll say it: God was in that sandwich. I’m not talking about the God of my neighbors down the way who wear heavy black coats in 90-degree heat and believe that a woman showing her elbows is a sign of the Apocalypse. I’m talking about something I can’t explain except to tell you what I saw… In only 26 hours Ayalim completely changed my perception of modern Zionism.
